I wanted to let you know that this site will no longer be updated and will probably be closing soon. We did move a lot of the regular parties to the San Francisco Sims for a few months, but unfortunately it was decided that we bring it all to an end as of the first of this year.

However, I will continue to have my parties at the Slot in Folsom on Wednesdays from 6-8pm SLT http://sn.im/theslot

Jake’s Club Resort to Host Month Long Halloween “Spooktacular”

In honor of Halloween, Jake’s Club Resort will be hosting events throughout the month of October to celebrate. Spooky, scary, sexy, and fun is the goal for the month. Events will include a haunted house, a BEEFCAKE costume fashion show, trick-or-treating, a spooky photo contest, and weekly themed parties. Join the staff at Jake’s beginning October 2, 2010 for a howling good time.

HAUNTED HOUSE

The haunted house will feature 2 levels of spooky fun. Scary rooms designed by Jake’s team of set designers will be sure to impress. This attraction will open on October 2, 2010 and will be open throughout the month for guests to enjoy

BEEFCAKE FASHION SHOW

Tylo Mabellon, one of Second Life’s hottest men’s fashion designers has put together a collection of costumes. This sexy collection of costumes will be modeled by some of the sexiest guys on the grid. The show will serve as the official grand opening of BEEFCAKE’s costume shop on the Jake’s Club Resort sim. Tylo will be introducing new designs in addition to his existing ones. BEEFCAKE costumes are seasonal and will be available for a limited time. The store will remain open throughout October, and at the end of the month all the costumes will be retired until next year.

TRICK-OR-TREATING

Your Jake’s Club Resort merchants will be offering some special Halloween themed freebies in their stores. Guests will also be treated to special items located throughout the sim. Items will be available for two weeks beginning October 16, 2010

HALLOWEEN THEMED PHOTO CONTEST

Jake’s invites guests to participate in Jake’s Hocus Focus Photo Contest. Guests to the resort are encouraged to submit their best Halloween inspired photo and invite their friends to vote. Entry in to the contest and voting is free to all who wish to participate. Cash and Prizes will be awarded to the top three vote getters- 1st Place: $5,000 lindens and prizes, 2nd place: $2,500 lindens, 3rd place: $500 lindens

PRIDE & DIVERSITY Exhibition planned by Brady Rowell

After taking a small hiatus, Second Life photographer Brady Rowell has returned to take on a new photography project centered on the Second Life Gay Community. Aptly titled "Pride and Diversity", the Photo Exhibition is planned to open for public viewing in August 2010 and will attempt to capture the uniqueness of individual avatars from the gay community while illustrating the diversity of the community itself. “I want to show how different members of the gay community in SL are and why these differences, when put together, make the gay community in SL great”, commented Brady when proposing this project to JakeC Hotshot and Baz Ceawlin, the owners of the main gallery at Jake’s Club Resort.

Brady has been the featured artist showcased in the gallery since it's opening in March 2009. “We are thrilled to have him back,” Jake comments, “and we’re looking forward to this exhibition. Brady is a talented artist who we are proud to lend our continued support to.” Jake also pointed out, “Brady’s timing is perfect! By the time his project is completed, the Jake’s sim and galley will be located in the Gay Archipelago. We will be able to share his work with the whole community.” Brady has been holding an ongoing series of open casting calls to find just the right individuals for his project. When asked why he is holding open casting calls for models, Brady says“... one goal is to feature people in this project who I have never photographed before. It should be all new faces.” In the end, only 15 people will be selected.

Halloween Bash Recap

Last night was Jake's Spooktacular Halloween Bash. We had another great looking set thanks to Baz Ceawlin. It was complete with tombstones, ghosts, fog, candles and spooky buildings. DJ Syri even created a custom tip jar with a skeleton on a pole. The dancefloor was packed with friends old and new in some great costumes. Thanks to everyone who came out and partied with us.

Just a short reminder that there will be no theme party on Saturday. Go out and Trick or Treat and have a great time. We will return next week with Syri's Tuesday Timewarp.

This classic comedy spoofs the airport disaster movies of the 70's. Austin Powers is a 60's spy who is cryonically frozen and released in the 1990's. The world is a very different place for Powers. Unfortunately for Austin, everyone is no longer sex-mad. Although he may be in a different decade, his mission is still the same. He has teamed up with Vanessa Kensington to stop the evil Dr. Evil, who was also frozen in the past. Dr. Evil stole a nuclear weapon and is demanding a payment of (when he realises its the 90's) 100 billion dollars. Can Austin Powers stop this madman? or will he caught up with Evil's henchman, with names like Alotta Fagina and Random Task? Only time will tell!

Justin Elias is a 28 year old singer, pianist, song writer and music arranger.
He does live music gigs and studio sessions throughout the Cincinnati area. Justin arranges 99% of his own tracks that he sings with here in SecondLife. He does the music, adds the harmonies, and has them ready for SecondLife performance. Overall Justin likes to bring a bit of everything into a show hoping everyone has a smile on their face.
